Anything on PetClaim that describes a condition, a symptom, a medication, an emergency scenario, or what a veterinarian's documentation should contain is reviewed by a licensed, practicing US veterinarian before publication.

What our reviewer checks

Clinical accuracy. Are conditions described correctly? Are typical age-of-onset and breed predispositions consistent with current literature?
SOAP-note completeness. Does our guidance ask the user to gather the right Subjective / Objective / Assessment / Plan elements that insurers actually require?
Diagnostic coding. Are we asking for the right diagnostic test names and result formats?
Safety. Are we appropriately telling users to consult their vet on dosage, drug interaction, and emergency triage questions — and not pretending to be a substitute for clinical care?

What our reviewer does not do

The medical reviewer does not provide individual veterinary advice through PetClaim, does not see your pet, and does not establish a veterinarian-patient-client relationship with anyone reading this site. Always consult your own veterinarian for medical decisions.

Review frequency

Clinical content is reviewed annually, on first publication, and whenever a user-reported correction triggers re-review.
